About THE GARDEN TULLN – the first permanent organic Garden Show in Europe
It all started with the initiative “Nature in the Garden”, launched by the Lower Austrian government. Natural gardening is the main issue of this idea. Lower Austria presents as the highlight THE GARDEN TULLN - Lower Austria’s Horticultural Show, which started as a permanent facility in spring 2008.
The garden show in Tulln - in close vicinity to the capital of Austria Vienna - offers a wide range of attractions. More than 40 show gardens in different shapes and sizes (80 – 800 m²) situated in the beautiful former wetland now parkland attract visitors from all countries. Landscaping companies, nurseries and architects created garden ideas of multiple designs with beautiful plants, flowers and shrubs. A lovely rose garden, a wellness garden with a water pond, a farmers´ garden as well as modern gardens for all tastes offer a large variety of different designs. These gardens will show visitors how to design their own gardens and maintain them in a natural and organic way. Ideas can be taken home and realized in the house garden.

However, THE GARDEN TULLN is not only the first permanent organic Horticultural Show in Europe, but is surrounded by a beautiful woodland with water ways for canoeing, walking paths for strolling through the forest and a connecting bridge to the charming town of Tulln.
Starting on April 4, 2010 the show is open until October 10, 2010 and will start again in spring 2011. Tulln is easily reached by car, coach or train from Vienna and all other parts of the country.
ECOLOGICAL BACKGROUND
The lower Austrian Garden Show is planned, built and maintained according to the strict criteria of “Nature in the Garden”:
1. no chemical-synthetic pesticides and no chemical plant protecting agents
2. no chemical fertilizers
3. no soil containing peat
Visitors will learn more about organic gardening, healthy planting in seminars, lectures and guided tours offered by the competent consultants of our consulting center called "die umweltberatung" on site.

Festivities and Events
Throughout the season the Garden Show offers a wide range of festivities and events with music and entertainment. From jazz to folk, from classical music to pop, from children’s theatre to story telling and music in the gardens: THE GARDEN TULLN is the place to be, to relax and to experience nature and have a wonderful day besides all the beautiful and impressing sights in Austria.
EVENT location
Facilities can also be rented by companies, agents or anybody who wants to have a special location for a company presentation, a clubbing, a symposium, a private party or even a wedding. The team of THE GARDEN TULLN will gladly prepare a special offer.
Water show
THE GARDEN TULLN offers an hourly water show with dancing fountains to different pieces of music. This attraction can be enjoyed either from the restaurant terrace having a good cup of coffee or a glass of delicious Austrian wine or from the banks of the pond.
Landscape concepts
The landscaping concept was designed by an international team of landscaping architects:
hutterreimann + cejka and Jens Schmahl (visitor’s center), Vienna, Austria/Berlin, Germany.
Ernst Maurer, Vienna, Austria (tree top pathway and garden hall)
The gardens were designed by Austrian garden companies, nurseries and landscaping companies. Internationally the garden show is represented by the Portuguese garden created by Francisco M. Caldeira Cabral and the English garden planned by Kate Gold from Great Britain, two internationally acclaimed garden designers and gold medal winners at the Chelsea flower show.
How to get there
by car: 20 minutes outside of Vienna via motorway A22 and S5 via new Danube bridge "Rosenbrücke”
by train: Franz Joseph Line (railway), Franz Joseph Station/Spittelau or Heiligenstadt to Tulln main station
